India vs South Africa Live Score, 2nd T20I: Get all the latest updates and a full scorecard for the second IND vs SA T20I, which is being played at St George Park in Gqeberha. South Africa versus India Live Result, 2nd T20I: The T20I series between India and South Africa should have begun by now, but the rain gods had other plans for the first match on Sunday. Consistent rain in Durban washed out the first T20I without a ball being bowled, effectively turning the series into a two-match affair. While the prospect of a 1-1 tie lingers, India and South Africa will be intensely motivated to achieve a result in today's second T20I at St George's Park, Gqeberha... assuming the weather permits. Unlike the Kingsmead Stadium a few days ago, Team India arrived in Gqeberha dry and hopeful that they would be in action, and thankfully, with dry weather awaiting, the much-anticipated match was able to take place. The two Twenty20 Internationals are critical for India. There are five T20Is l...

BCCI secretary confirms tournament will begin in "second or third week" of February. The second edition of the Women's Premier League will take place in "one state" of India, starting from the "second or third week" of February. BCCI secretary Jay Shah confirmed as much on Saturday, talking to journalists after the WPL auction in Mumbai. It is decided that we will have the tournament in February," he said. "Most probably we will start in the second or third week. "As far as the venue is concerned, it will be held in one state only so that it is better logistically. Logistics are very important for us this time, next time we can figure it [having more venues] out. "We can do it either in Bangalore [Karnataka] also or Uttar Pradesh also. We have so many venues, even in Gujarat, where we have Ahmedabad, Rajkot and after a few years Baroda can build their own stadium.  Basically, it is a joint call between the franchises and the BCCI. ...

Rain washes out first T20I in Durban

Image
South Africa will have Coetzee and Jansen available only for the second T20I before they are released to prepare for the Tests The first T20I between South Africa and India - one of only six matches in the format for each side before next year's T20 World Cup - was called off without even the toss taking place in Durban. Steady drizzle through the day meant that a capacity crowd was denied any action as the fixture was abandoned an hour and 54 minutes after it was due to start, at 4pm local time. The washout was particularly disappointing for Kingsmead, which has no other international fixtures this summer and is celebrating its centenary this year. This was also due to be veteran groundsman Wilson Ngobese's last international pitch, as he will retire at the end of the season. Kingsmead will still host domestic matches, including a first-class match between the Dolphins and Lions which starts next Thursday, and SA20 fixtures early next year. For the teams, the inability to get ...

"Rohit Sharma Looks Bulky But...": India Coach On Fitness Comparisons With Virat Kohli

Image
India's strength and conditioning coach Ankit Kaliyar said that Rohit Sharma is as fit as Virat Kohli even though he looks a little bulky. Fitness wasn't always a selection criteria in the Indian team but with the evolution of cricket, a lot has changed. With Virat Kohli arguably being the finest example, Indian players have worked hard towards their first. Even the introduction of the Yo-Yo test has forced the players to work on their fitness in order to get into the Indian team. However, there also remains chatter on players like Rohit Sharma who often get people engaged in fitness debates. But, as far as India's strength and conditioning coach Ankit Kaliyar is concerned, Rohit is as fit as Kohli. "Rohit Sharma is a fit player. He has good fitness. He looks a bit bulky but he always passes the Yo-Yo test. He is as fit as Virat Kohli. He looks like he is bulky but we have seen him on the field. His agility and mobility is amazing. He is among the fittest cricketers,...

Back Fight for Gaza’s Khan Younis Puts Israel, U.S. on Collision Course

Image
The fight for Hamas’s most significant remaining military stronghold is critical for Israel’s war aims but could put it at odds with a U.S. push for fewer civilian casualties and a more limited conflict. TEL AVIV—The southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis is a critical target for Israel’s military—strategically and symbolically. The centuries-old market town is the suspected hiding place of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and the militant group’s most significant remaining military stronghold. But the fight to capture it risks putting Israel on a collision course with the Biden administration, which has called on Israel to minimize civilian casualties and ease humanitarian deprivation in Gaza, and to hew to a more limited war aim of expelling Hamas from power.     Khan Younis, a city of 400,000 people in normal times, almost doubled in size as Gazans fled there from the bombed-out remains of Gaza City. That makes it a treacherous battlefield as Israel fights militants in the midst ...
